r2print was formed in 2006 by Richard Mason and Richard Ramage.

Richard Mason’s background is initially in advertising, design and PR, establishing his own agency, Sinclair Mason, in 1984. He then founded Churchills Printing Company which he ran until 2006. Richard Ramage has worked in pre press for over 20 years, working with major publishers, design agencies and print organisations across the country.

In 2006 we took a step back and reviewed the print production market, it became obvious that print companies throughout the UK were under pressure from the print broker market and Dot Comms forever driving prices lower and lower, whilst production costs continued to rise.

In desperation companies were committing to producing work which was totally unsuitable for the equipment they had, running single colour work on 4 and 5 colour presses at single colour prices, trying to compete litho presses with digital presses on short run work. The consequences of this, as we have seen, is the demise of many long established and respected companies.
Selecting the right machine for a particular job is the key to cost effective print.
